Library Information Science Department Leadership Transition
Dr. Deborah Grealy Retires in January 2018
Dr. Grealy joined St. Kate’s in January 2010 from the University of Denver, where she was an Assistant Professor and former Director of the Morgridge College of Education’s Library and Information Science Program.
In 2011, Dr. Grealy led the department to gain its first American Library Association accreditation. Before retiring, she has committed to leading the department through the grueling accreditation process a second time — a goal to which she is dedicating much of her remaining time, as well as assisting in the transition process for the incoming Program Director.
Our sincere thanks and best wishes to Dr. Grealy for her seven years of service as the Associate Dean and Program Director; we wish her well as she approaches retirement.
Dr. Anthony Molaro Appointed Incoming Program Director
Dr. Molaro joined St. Kate’s in 2013 from Prairie State College in Illinois, where he was the Associate Dean of Library and Instructional Services.
Dr. Molaro has brought creative, energetic and innovative approaches to his faculty duties here at St. Kate’s. He also leads the MLIS Program’s Marketing, Outreach and Recruitment Task Force –formed in 2015 to strengthen the program’s marketing and recruiting efforts –in collaboration with Graduate Admissions. He currently serves as chair of the University’s Academic Resources Committee.
We congratulate Dr. Molaro and wish him well as he transitions to his new role.
