Library Intern in China

Are you a library student looking for a unique opportunity to work in an international school library? Dulwich College Suzhou in China is looking for a new library intern for the 2017-2018 school year. The 2017-2018 school will be the fourth year we have offered the intern program, which has enabled both of our previous library interns to transition into their own international school libraries.
This is an active position at a prestigious British school for expat children living in China. The intern will work closely with our two librarians, our library assistants, our teachers, and of course, our students. This is truly an incredible opportunity for an adventurous, future-librarian. You will work hard, but the experience and opportunities to advance your library career are priceless.
In brief, intern benefits include airfare, health insurance, visa, accommodations (dorm), and pocket money.

The intern will work primarily in the libraries but will also have other duties within the school dorm.
Interested candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree and an interest in working in international libraries. Teaching and library experience are helpful but not required. As all our students speak English, Chinese language skills are not required.

Duration of internship: August 2017-June 2018 (with possible extension to a second year)
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree; currently enrolled or soon-to-be-enrolled in an accredited, graduate library certification program (MLS); fluency in English (Chinese not required)
Start date: August 1, 2017
Education requirements: Bachelor’s Degree is required for Chinese visa. Intern must be currently enrolled in an accredited Library Science Master’s Degree or library certification program.
