Movie Screening Night, Monday, March 6, 2017

St. Kate’s SAA Student Chapter is proud to invite everyone to its Censorship: Then Is Now movie event.

We’ll be screening the little-known 1956 drama Storm Center, featuring Bette Davis as a small town librarian who is shunned by her community after she refuses to remove offensive material from the local library. Storm Center was one of the first Hollywood films to explicitly criticize McCarthyism, and its themes and principles still hold an apt resonance for today’s librarians.

Please join us at the Visual Arts Building located on the north side of the Quad on Monday, March 6th, at 6:30pm. Popcorn, drinks, and prizes will be provided.
